So I must share a vendor with you that I love love love! Andy Sachs comes to us from Kristin, who is a stay at home mom who uses her creative headband/wrap making business as a “side-hustle” during her one year old daughter’s nap time. Andy Sachs started on Etsy a year ago and has grown significantly over the last year thanks to social media and some notable Instagram followers.
The idea for Andy Sachs originally came about when Kristin was looking for cute and comfortable headbands for her newborn daughter. After not finding what she wanted in stores, she pursued making her own. She personally designs all the patterns and uses an outside manufacturer in the U.S. to have them printed on ultra-soft organic cotton knit. She strives for bold designs, playful colors, and specializes in personalization.
A fun little tidbit about the Andy Sachs name is that it was inspired by the protagonist in the book/movie The Devil Wears Prada. As an English major that has never bought a single issue of Vogue, Kristin heavily identified with Anne Hathaway’s character as the wanna-be-writer who was clueless in the fashion industry. I personally do not think she is all that clueless! I love her style for her products!
Come check out Andy Sachs at BHM on October 25. She will be bringing my a new line of designs for AW14 and will also be accepting orders for personalized products that will be ready to ship in plenty of time for Christmas. Follow on Instagram at @AndySachs to see the newest product releases.
